Day trip to Mount Pisgah

One of my favorite hikes, favorite restaurants, and favorite drives. Lovely day. Of course it rained on us on the trail up Mount Pisgah, but it always does. Always. At least this year the water was not flowing down the trail like a creek.

Dumplin Valley campground

Lovely farming area in eastern Tennessee. Apparently these folks put on a big bluegrass music festival once or twice a year, and have set up this field with electric and water hookups for campers who come for the music. And the rest of the year it's just a very quiet campground.

Beautiful place!

Heading east

Fantastic bike rail trail goes through Hermann. The Katy Trail- named after the   MKT (Missouri Kansas Texas)  railroad that uses to be there.  It goes maybe 250 miles, but we only went 20. 10 out, 10 back. Crushed stone surface, not asphalt, so it was not an easy ride. Maybe next time we pass through we will do more.

Also stops in
Paducah Kentucky.
Kodak Tennessee.

The altimeter ap on my phone says we are at 500 feet.  Pretty low, after a max of 12,300 or so, at the top of Trail Ridge Road.
