We were in the bus for a long day today. A midday stop at the Outdoor Museum of the Black Forest, which was fascinating. Similar to Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains, or Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia, and such places. I have pictures but it's late here, and the pictures are still in the camera.
BUT we are in the Swiss Alps tonight! What a phenomenal place. We went through Interlaken, to a town named Lauterbrunnen. We took a cable car up to the town of Gimmelwald, then got onto another cable car up to Murren, where we are staying for 3 nights. Hotel is called the Hotel Jungfrau, here in Murren. If you google it, specify the Hotel Jungfrau in Murren, because there are others.
Tomorrow we are hoping the weather will be clear and dry. It's a bit iffy, though. The tops of the mountains had cloud cover tonight.
If the weather is clear enough to justify the trip, some of us from our group are taking a cable car up to the top of the highest mountain around, the Shilthorn. Then after we get back to the hotel, a fairly easy hike down to Gimmelwald and back. Thing is there's the optiion of cable car back up from Gimmelwald if it looks too steep, so should be a relaxed walk.
I hope to post some pictures tomorrow, from today and tomorrow also.
Phyllis- we went through Bern. Lots of bear images everywhere, just like New Bern.
Chris and dad and whoever else might be interested, google a few of these names. And try images as well as regular web results.

Wow, sounds exciting! I'm reading this late (well, not that late really, only 9:30 but i'm tired) so haven't googled up the sites but will tomorrow. Is this still with the Rick Steves group? Hope all is going well! Sounds like something out of a fairy tale!
