Stolperstein

Memorials to individual Jews and others taken away by the Nazis. Added to cobblestone streets where the person lived or was last seen. Idea is that if a person's name is forgotten, the person has been forgotten. And there is a deliberate sense around here that this should not happen.
Although not all consider this to be an appropriate way to memorialize someone; walking over the blocks with names, dates, etc, seems disrespectful.
I can see both sides, but mostly it seems to me like a good way to remember what happened on these very streets.
